Welcome to Governor’s Rock Motel

Welcome to the Governor’s Rock Motel, located in the Village of Shaftsbury, in Southwestern Vermont’s beautiful Green Mountain region.

The Governor’s Rock is conveniently located on Historic Route 7A, near the home of poet Robert Frost, many of whose poems such as “Stoping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” received inspiration from the beauty of our area. The Motel is sited on the original farm of former Vermont Governor Jonas Galusha, a Shaftsbury resident and hero of the Revolutionary War.

Our Motel offers a beautiful and quiet rural setting, with impressive mountain views. Located between Bennington and Manchester, it is convenient to all the local scenic, cultural, and historic attractions as well as fine restaurants and shopping.
